Itinerary - Spring In Senegal Educational Tour 2012
Saturday, March 31st
3:05 pm flight leaves Atlanta to Dakar, Senegal (stop in NYC)
Sunday, April 1
8 a.m. Arrive in Dakar (Capital)
9 am - Transportation and Check-in Hotel (Novotel or similar)
Welcome lunch** and Orientation

Dinner** at Hotel
Monday, April 2
Breakfast**
Dakar City Tour-Presidential Palace, Sandaga Market, Grand Mosque, Artisan’s Market
University of Dakar visit with the English Club.
Lunch** with students at University of Dakar
Dinner at local restaurant
Tuesday, April 3
Breakfast**
Depart to Goree Island, visit slave houses, Ifan Historical Museum of the Diaspora, elementary school, high school “Mariama Ba” and the markets. After lunch we will visit the Medical Center and the Coranic school.
Dinner**at local restaurant.
Wednesday, April 4
Breakfast**
After breakfast, depart Dakar to the mysterious Pink Lake. After a 30-minute drive you arrive at this incredible rose-colored body of water known as Pink Lake, ('Lac Rose' in French, 'Retba' in Wolof). We will enjoy 4x4 wheel drive on the sand dunes and stop at the Fulani Village to meet the Chief of the Village and the people.
After lunch**Visit to Cayar Village (optional)—fishing community where fisherman bring tons of fish, shrimp and lobsters to shore for sale and the beach comes alive with buyers, families, and children.
Dinner** in Dakar
Thursday, April 5
Breakfast**
Morning safari in the animal reserve of Bandia where we will see giraffes, buffalos, monkeys, rhinos, and other animals. Then we will continue to Saly Beach for lunch** and relax on the beach.
Group Farewell Dinner** with entertainment
Friday, April 6

Morning of Leisure
Lunch**
Hotel Check out (late check-out)
Group Activities before leaving for airport
10:35pm flight leaves Dakar for Paris to switch planes to Atlanta.
