Student Application

The cost of the Senegal Educational Tour is $3,300 per person, double occupancy.  In partnership with Atlanta-based nonprofit, Young People Matter (YPM), the Eford Group will solicit sponsorships for students in high school who are 16-18 years old and whose family has a STRONG NEED for financial assistance for this educational journey. 

Selected students will be responsible to pay $500-$800 depending upon a family's income, which includes a deposit of $200. 
No student will qualify without a deposit. If we are unable to provide sponsorship for any student, or they are not accepted, deposits will be refunded. Follow the instructions here on the Payments Page on how to make your deposit.  

If you are interested in a student possibly receiving sponsorship, please complete the information below and we will notify you when applications are available--(tentative Nov 2011).  Each student will be required to write an essay, have their own transportation to and from Atlanta and have a valid passport, VISA and Yellow Fever shot, as well as written parental permission which includes their participation in an in-person interview or a video conference.

MINORS: Anyone under 18 years old, must have written parent/guardian permission to attend the trip and each parent/guardian will be required to meet with a representative of the trip.  If a physical meeting is not possible because you are located outside of the Atlanta, GA area, we require a videoconference with the parent/guardian via Skype.  Students will share a room with other students of the same sex and we reserve the right to place a students in triple occupancy if necessary. Other:  Students may also be requested to complete an essay on what they hope to gain from traveling to West Africa.  We can help provide you with information to obtain school credit for their participation in the trip.
